Stainless steel 304 Round flanges, or “SS 304 flanges,” are common names for stainless steel flanges. ASTM A182 Grade F304/L and F316/L are commonly used materials standards and grades, with pressure values varying between Class 150 to 2500 and 300 to 600. Austenitic stainless steel with 18% chromium and 8% nickel makes upstainless steel 304/304L/304H flanges. The flanges can also operate well in acidic solutions at mild temperatures, especially without chlorides or fluorides. This grade is prone to crevice corrosion and pitting when exposed to greater chloride levels, even though grade 304 operates well enough in freshwater environments with low rates of chlorides.
